GO GREEN INITIATIVES - SPONSORED BY ATHLETES FOR A FIT PLANET
In order to reduce the incredible waste and impact which events can have on the environment, All Sports Productions and the Fayetteville Half Marathon are taking steps to lessen the impact of the race in the following ways:
- Registration will be online only.
- T-shirts will be optional for each participant.
- Solar power will be used wherever possible to lower energy use.
- Bulk race supplies will be ordered to reduce packaging.
- All race supplies will be recycled.
- Left over food and supplies will be donated to local charities.
- Non-dated race medals and awards will be used.
- All race results will be electronic.
- There will be a reduced use of print advertising.
- We are encouraging car pooling among participants and their families and friends.
- Low-emission race vehicles will be used.
- Electric all-terrain vehicles will be used.
The Fayetteville Half Marathon is an All Sports Production event. All Sports Productions promotes cycling, running, duathlons, triathlons, adventure racing and other outdoor events. Our goal is to produce races at the highest standards which are locally, regionally and nationally recognized events with a festival-like atmosphere.
